Image Compressor & Resizer
About this tool
Image Compressor & Resizer shrinks image dimensions and rewrites the file into a lighter download. Use it when screenshots, share images, docs graphics, or blog assets are too large for the next destination.
How the controls work
Resize presets act as maximum width and height limits. Custom width or height values override the preset when you need a tighter export target.
The quality field changes how strongly the output is compressed. Higher values preserve more detail, while lower values typically reduce the file size more aggressively.
Gotchas
This tool keeps the original aspect ratio instead of stretching images into a new shape. If the output needs exact crop dimensions, crop the source first.
Exported files are rewritten without embedded metadata. If you rely on camera or author metadata, keep a separate original copy.
Key use cases
- -Reduce oversized screenshots before adding them to documentation.
- -Prepare social-share artwork inside common width and height limits.
- -Shrink blog or landing-page images before uploading them to a CMS.
